About Me
Hi, I'm Callista. I'm a Seattle native and spent a few years trying on other cities before returning home. I'm a photographer, musician, adventurer, problem solver, and am fascinated by culture, social/interpersonal dynamics, and the cause and effect of oppression and injustice. Human rights, equity, mental health awareness, access to mental health resources, and advocacy around these things are important to me.
What's here? Photos of things I'm fascinated by or that have captured my attention, as well photo stories that I find my brain concocting before I have any say in the matter. You'll find a few sketches of things I found beautiful for one reason or another, and hopefully soon some music.
More?
I learned to swim at 31 and have dabbled in triathlon and mountain ultra running. I've been tapping out rhythms on anything I could find and humming melodies to match background noises since I can remember. I see beauty in old, weathered, and broken things and greatly appreciate both complexity and simplicity, and humility and nuance. I started photographing broken and dark things when I was 15 and started again recently after a years- long break.
I shuttle data back and forth and solve simple and complex problems to pay my bills, and I like it. ...most of time.
My favorite pastimes are learning, and discussion for the sake of learning.
Please reach out on my contact page if there's a print you'd like to purchase - I have options for medium (print, canvas, or metal). I'd also love to chat if you'd just like to say hi, and like to talk about ideas as well.
Enjoy!
